A friend of ours is getting married to his American fiancee in Boston in April; Rich and I have been invited and are GOING Very Happy

We are flying into JFK on Sunday 5th April, staying in NY for 3 nights, then driving up to Cape Cod, and finally on to the Boston area for the wedding Very Happy  Home on April 14th!

Any tips for New York gratefully received!!

Yay!   Bounce  Bounce  Bounce

I don't really have any tips though since I was 11 when I went to New York (we spent most of the trip searching for a Cabbage Patch Kid and finding the High School for the Performing Arts (ie FAME!) Laughing ) - sorry!

Oh wow, sounds great!

Where are you staying in NYC? Aside form the obvious, Union Square is definitely worth a trip - the farmer's market is M, W, F, Sat Smile

I'll have a think for anything else.

I have booked the Affinia Manhattan.  Pretty central and I got a great rate on a 1-bed suite.  We arrive on a Sunday, so will def plan a visit to the farmers market on Monday Smile

 Bounce Bounce

My tip would be to bring lots of money!

Over a decade since we were there and we just did the obvious - Empire, Ferry out by the Statue (but didn't have time to go ashore), saw the Twin Towers  Sad, and watched the premier of a Bond Movie in Times Square.

Oh NY,NY.
Here's a story for you.
First time I went we were invited [volunteers you you and you one step forward] to the premiere of 'The Longest Day. and the reception afterwards [we were told] saw most of the stars and spoke to several Robert Ryan  had a long chat with us John Wayne totally ignored us even when spoken too!,film was long and the venue was very noisy. Sadly the reception afterwards was not in the same place as where the stars held theirs and it was an awful red wine that was the only alcohol to drink!!! So we ended up in Times Square where i had my first ever flavoured doughnut!! And ended up in the Salvation Army Hall as they were giving away free Levi jeans.

Sadly I suppose most of you were not born then Sad

Heartland looks great - doubtless we will start with the "VOYAGE OF BEER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .12.95
5 oz. samplings of our six classic beers"

Will pop into Manitobas if we're passing!
